Contoh Soal dan Jawaban IELTS Writing Section Task 2 Berdasarkan Jenis Soal

1. Opinion Essay (Agree or Disagree)

Soal:

Some people think that children should start school at a very early age, while others believe they should begin at least 7 years old. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Jawaban Ringkas (Opening + Opinion):

Some people argue that starting school early helps children adapt faster to structured learning. Others believe that early education might suppress creativity and emotional development. In my opinion, while early schooling can offer academic advantages, starting at around age 7 allows children to mature emotionally, which is just as important.

2. Discussion Essay (Discuss Both Views)

Soal:

Some people believe that online education is more effective than traditional classroom learning. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Jawaban Ringkas (Opening + Structure):

Online education offers flexibility and access to global resources, while traditional classrooms provide direct interaction and discipline. This essay will explore both perspectives before concluding with a personal view that a blended approach is often the most effective.

3. Advantage / Disadvantage Essay

Soal:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in a large city?

Jawaban Ringkas (Main Points):

Living in a large city provides better job opportunities and modern infrastructure. However, it also comes with high living costs, traffic congestion, and pollution. While the advantages are appealing, the drawbacks can significantly affect quality of life.

4. Problem / Solution Essay

Soal:

Many people believe that the level of youth crime is increasing. What are the causes, and what solutions can you suggest?

Jawaban Ringkas (Causes + Solutions):

Youth crime often stems from broken families, lack of education, and peer pressure. Solutions include increasing access to education, providing community support programs, and stricter parental supervision.

5. Double Question Essay (Two-part Question)

Soal:

People are working longer hours and having less free time. What problems can this cause? What can employers do to help workers?

Jawaban Ringkas (Both Questions Answered):

Long working hours can lead to stress, burnout, and reduced family time. Employers can offer flexible working hours, wellness programs, and mental health support to help maintain employee well-being.

Tips and Trik Mengerjakan IELTS Writing Task 2

  1. Gunakan struktur 4 paragraf: Introduction, 2 body paragraphs, dan conclusion. 
  2. Selalu jelaskan alasan dan beri contoh dalam body paragraph. 
  3. Gunakan linking words: in contrast, for example, on the other hand, as a result, dll. 
  4. Jangan terlalu rumit; jelas dan terstruktur lebih baik daripada bertele-tele.

IELTS Writing Task 2 memang butuh strategi dan latihan yang konsisten.
